The BADS crew visiting Daylily World
Buffalo maybe most recognized for its perceived reputation for
snow and cold, it can get cold and we
can have some snow but we also have
fabulous daylily gardens and warm and generous club members.
Speaking of
snow we were founded on a cold January evening in 1995 by a few enthusiasts who
enamored with the beauty and hardiness of the daylily came together to form
the Buffalo Area Daylily
Society. Our mission that we chose to accept was to
promote and educate the general gardening public
about the fine qualities
and diversity of this wonderful perennial.
We have grown significantly over the past
decade and have hosted one Regional and are planning
another one, with
garden tours as well as help organized other daylily clubs, most significant
among them the
Ontario Daylily Society. Together we founded the original
Canadian American Daylily Muster that has
grown to become one of the best
annual symposiums in North America.
Our goal is to bring to our members the best
in plant material through our acquisition program as
well as educational
opportunities by way of noted hybridizers and daylily notables at our meetings
and events.
So please join in the hospitality and make some new garden
friends with the BADS folk and learn more
about daylilies.
